My boyfriend & I did a cover!

He was terribly nervous, but he loves to sing, and I am so proud of him for doing this with me. :-)
Take a look, and comment on what you think?

Everybody Hurts (Cover)

they’re not real.
why idolize these picture perfect men and women you see all over tumblr, when hours and hours of time has been spent on greasing up their bodies, setting up the most flaw reducing lighting, and getting into the most flattering pose? not to mention all of the retouching and retouching of the retouching that goes on in post production.
why is this sexy, when it’s not real? why strive for this, and search for this when it’s not out there? why set yourself up for failure like that?

i want real. i want gritty. i want dirty.
i want a body full of scars and marks and imperfections that tell a story. i want to be proud of both the flab and the muscle i’ve got. i want my hair to look like a mess, and i want my skin to look lived in. i want my body to remind me of past mistakes, and future successes.
fat, skinny, tall, short, hairy, hairless, scarred or not, stretched or not. anything, or nothing at all.

be proud of who you are, and if the people you love are stuck on the fantasy of those pictures being a reality, then remind them that you are beautiful. remind them that you have been beaten, bruised, and battered- and you’re still here and glowing.
remind them that your body is your own, and that it deserves to be loved and treated fairly, just like anything else in life.

About:

her cigarette froze on a lake of mirrors
she read jack, she drank jack, while talking ‘bout dylan

i’m lonely, come join me
i’m torn deep, just float me
on sleepy waters
